What's SCALE UP??

Bandung sebagai kota kreatif sudah tidak perlu diragukan lagi, bahkan negara tetangga dan sekitar pun mengakui hal tersebut. Salah satunya pada akhir Juli 2007, Bandung dinobatkan sebagai pilot project kota kreatif se–Asia Timur (sumber:http://bandungcreativecityblog.wordpress.com/2008/05/10/bandung-jadi-kota-kreatif-se-asia-timur/).

Sebagai sebuah kota kreatif, Bandung kaya akan sumber daya manusia dengan potensi dalam bidang design, seni, musik, fashion, dan industri. Namun ternyata potensi yang dimiliki masing – masing individu (seperti di atas), tidak lantas secara mutlak membuat mereka terangkat ke permukaan dan dikenal masyarakat begitu saja. Sebuah wadah diperlukan untuk membuat khalayak menyadari eksistensi mereka. Wadah yang telah ada selama ini kebanyakan hanya melirik mereka yang sudah memiliki nama, sehingga yang sudah dikenal semakin terkenal. Bagaimana dengan mereka yang sama – sama memiliki potensi, namun belum memiliki nama.

Berdasarkan pemikiran di atas, muncullah gagasan untuk dapat mewadahi teman - teman seniman, fashion designer, musisi, serta pelaku industri kreatif di kota Bandung dalam mewujudkan mimpi mereka, untuk dapat dikenal dan menginspirasi orang – orang di sekitar dalam skala yang lebih luas. Oleh karena itu, lahirlah SCALE UP – yang merupakan kepanjangan dari SCreaming tALented authEntic Unpredictable People. Disamping itu, SCALE UP sendiri menurut www.dictionary.com memiliki arti ‘increase in size, quantity, or activity according to a fixed scale or proportion’. SCALE UP sendiri merupakan sekumpulan 4 orang wanita yang sama – sama memiliki mimpi yang sama, tertarik dengan art, fashion, dan musik. Mimpi ini terus dibangun dan berusaha diwujudkan, dengan harapan event ini akan dapat terlaksana secara berkelanjutan.
